Meet Adam: Board Approved Psychology Supervisor

Choosing a supervisor is one of the most important professional decisions you’ll make. Whether you’re navigating the early demands of your internship, working towards endorsement, expanding into new areas of practice, or building a private practice — the right supervisory relationship can make a real difference to how you develop and how you feel about your work.

I’m Adam, AHPRA registered psychology supervisor. I like to bring a sense of curiosity, honesty, and humour (where appropriate) to the work I do; and am genuinely invested in the people I supervise. My goal isn’t just to help you meet your hours — it’s to help you grow into the kind of psychologist you want to be.

Who I work with

Provisional Psychologists

Whether you’re completing a 4+2 internship or a 5+1 program, I offer primary supervision to support you through your journey to general registration. I understand the pressure of those early years — the caseload demands, the self-doubt, and the challenge of finding your footing. Supervision with me is a space to reflect, develop your clinical skills, and build the professional identity you’ll carry through your career.

Registered & Endorsed Psychologists

If you’re a registered psychologist seeking to develop skills in workplace-related presentations (including psychological injury, return to work, and workers insurance), or working with high-performance or executive clients, I offer supervision that goes beyond clinical case review. I also support psychologists navigating private practice development — from building a caseload to working out your niche and positioning.

Registrar Psychologists

Working towards endorsement is a significant commitment. Finding secondary supervision that genuinely adds to your development, rather than just meeting a requirement, makes a real difference. If your caseload includes workplace-related, EAP, organisational, or insurance-related presentations, I’m well-placed to support you. My background spans coaching psychology, vocational rehabilitation, and corporate consulting.

Placement for Psychology Students

Placements can be an exciting and daunting time. I’m open to providing supervision for psychology students on placement, and aim to create a space that’s supportive, honest, and grounded in the realities of the work. Whether you’re a student looking for an external placement supervisor or a placement coordinator seeking a board-approved supervisor for your students, please get in touch via the contact page.

Why Work With Me?

In my view, supervision works best in an environment where we can not only celebrate your successes, but where you also feel comfortable to share the cases you’re uncertain about, the moments you wish you handled better (we all have them!) and the challenges you have with clinical work.

In practice, sessions look different depending on what you need. We might work through a case together, practise a technique or intervention in the session itself, or explore the internal blocks — the anxiety, self-doubt, or personal challenges — that are quietly affecting your clinical work. Where it’s useful, I like to send you relevant resources after the session.

My style is warm, direct, and genuinely curious. I’ll bring honesty when it’s needed and humour where it’s appropriate. And as you develop, the supervision relationship adapts — what you need in your first year looks very different from what’s useful three years in. My aim is to meet you where you’re at rather than apply a fixed formula.

FAQs

Board-approved supervision is supervision provided by a psychologist who has undergone additional training and has been endorsed by AHPRA to supervise psychologists. Supervision from a board approved supervisor is a mandatory component of the pathway to general and endorsed registration. Board approved supervisors can work with provisional psychologists, registrars and registered psychologists.

Yes. I can provide primary supervision for provisional psychologists completing the 4+2 and 5+1 internship pathways. Interns should receive one hour of supervision for every 17 hours of psychological practice (client contact and client-related hours).

Yes. I offer secondary supervision to registrars working towards endorsement. I am particularly well-suited to supporting registrars working in corporate, organisational or workplace settings.

Absolutely. Some of the most rewarding supervision I provide is with registered and endorsed psychologists who are expanding their scope of practice or navigating a professional transition. I’m particularly well-placed to support psychologists who are: moving into corporate or organsiational settings, seeking to develop their skills in workplace-related presentations, work with high-performance or executive clients, and those interested in building and growing a private practice.

AHPRA requires that registrars receive at least fortnightly supervision when practising, with sessions of at least one hour. For provisional psychologists, the requirement is one hour per 17 hours of practice. For registered psychologists seeking ongoing development supervision, we’ll agree on a frequency that suits your goals and workload. We’ll agree on a schedule that meets your requirements at the outset.

Yes. I offer supervision via telehealth for supervisees located anywhere in Queensland or across Australia.

I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can have a conversation before any commitment is made. The supervisory relationship is important — it’s worth taking the time to find the right fit.

I am open to providing placement for students. Please send your enquiry directly via the contact page.
