Four week course

What if you could be your own best coach?

Learn practical, evidence-based skills to respond to stress and challenges with balance and encouragement – rather than harsh self-criticism.

You’re capable. You work hard. But something’s not working.

Maybe you’re dealing with stress that won’t let up. Or self-doubt that keeps you stuck. Perhaps you know you should “take better care of yourself” – but something always gets in the way.

You’re tired of advice that doesn’t match how you think or work. You don’t need to be told to “find another job”, “think positive” or “just relax.” And pretending everything is fine doesn’t help either.

You need something more realistic and practical.

Meet Adam Sadd

I’m a psychologist who works with professionals in Brisbane.

I help people develop a self-coaching mindset – the inner capacity to respond flexibly to stress and challenges with balance and encouragement.

Over 4 weeks, I’ll teach you practical skills grounded in psychological research – tools that I actually use with clients.

These are skills you can learn and use for the rest of your career.

What You’ll Learn

Understand your threat detection system (inner critic) and caregiving system (inner coach) – and why balance between them matters.

You’ll learn:

  • How to tap into the helpful information your inner critic has to share
  • The benefits of balanced thinking, not positive thinking
  • Why noticing what your mind is doing is the foundation for any change

Discover how emotions show up as physical sensations in your body – and a practical way to work with them.

You’ll learn:

  • Why emotions are a source of useful information, not just a problem to get rid of
  • Why struggling against emotions tends to make them harder to manage, not easier
  • A simple practice that activates the thinking part of your brain to help regulate emotion

Learn why your brain needs rest to perform – and how to stop your inner critic from getting in the way.

You’ll learn:

  • Your two modes of attention, and what happens to your brain under stress
  • How the inner critic can keep you from getting the rest you need to perform at your best
  • The skill noticing a thought without being controlled by it, and choosing how to respond

Consolidate what you’ve learned and build a way of reflecting that keeps you moving forward – without falling into self-criticism.

You’ll learn:

  • Why self-coaching is an ongoing practice, not something you master once
  • Balanced reflection: making room for the whole picture
  • A reflect-and-commit framework you can use anytime for a balanced way forward

You’ll have the option to continue with my upcoming course, Coaching Yourself Under Pressure: Sustainable performance for busy professionals (available in the coming months), or explore 1-on-1 coaching/therapy.

Each week takes just a few minutes. One video, one practice. That’s it.

These aren’t one-size-fits-all solutions. They’re evidence-based skills you can adapt to your situation. The practices are designed to work for people who lead busy lives.

This isn’t about forcing yourself to “think positive” or “stop worrying”. It’s about understanding how your brain works and setting up ways of responding that support you – not strategies that fight against how you work.

No. This is educational content teaching general psychological skills. It’s not individual advice or treatment. If you need personalised support, individual sessions may be more appropriate (and we can discuss that at the end of the course).

Awareness practices can bring up uncomfortable thoughts or feelings. This is often part of developing self-awareness. If you experience significant distress, please discontinue and seek support from a qualified mental health professional.

If you’re experiencing significant mental health concerns, thoughts of self-harm, or crisis situations, please seek immediate professional support. This educational program is not designed to address these needs.
